4/21/2024 0 Comments Lower brightness more mac![]() ![]() ![]() Prior to getting the Mac Studio I was using the LG with a 2019 iMac 5k and it worked reliably and I never had this issue. I have tried a new Thunderbolt 3 cable, switched thunderbolt ports, restarted everything, turned off, unplugged and replugged the LG display and no luck finding a fix. When it is awake there is no shift to the brightness once it is reset to the proper level, but as soon as it sleeps and wakes up, it is brighter again. The only variance with the LG is the brightness, there is no color shift so I'm not thinking it is an issue with the display. so one display is working great and is staying consistent brightness-wise, the other is shifting upon wakeup. I am also using a BenQ SW321C display that does not change brightness when the computer wakes up. I do not have nightshift on and I have disabled the F1 and F2 brightness functions on the keyboard so that I don't inadvertently change the brightness while using the keyboard so this would seem to be some hiccup either with the OS or the Mac Studio. When I wake the Mac Studio up from sleep, the brightness is boosted up to around 200 cd/m consistently. I am fully color managed (using BasICColor Display 6) and the display is set to 120cd/m brightness through profiling. When the computer wakes from sleep, the brightness of the LG display changes. Also, this will also not affect screenshots.Hi, I am having an odd issue with a Mac Studio Max, 32core GPU 64gb ram, 2tb ssd, and my LG 27" Ultrafine 5k display. This should avoid the PWM issue even if not using a dummy. This trick will make the screen use colortable control (a form of software brightness control). You should set hardware brightness to 100% first and also turn off auto brightness (ambient light sensor). You should use the MacBook's brightness slider - but if you want to avoid PWM, you can disable hardware brightness control here (turn this one off): Yes, dummies don't support hardware or colortable mirroring so it uses an overlay based technique (essentially a transparent black film). Sorry, maybe i am missing any other setting? Can you please help me to make it right ) If I recheck again the toggle "Enable brightness control (Apple hardware)" we can see that brightness is 100% on Apple brightness I've got MacBook with macOs Ventura 13.2.1. But I got the same behaviour (bright mouse pointer, dark screenshots, flashing display when entering/exiting full screen mode. Now I can change only dummy display brightness (overlay) with F1/F2 buttons. Thank you for your soon reply! I set Apple brightness to max, unchecked "Enable brightness control (Apple hardware)" on Color LCD display. Thank you for this app, maybe with your app we will get a hope to fight this strange eye strain problemīeta Was this translation helpful? Give feedback. I am very sensitive to these flashes, especially at night. Additionally, when I enter or exit full screen mode using the green circle on the menu bar (the third icon from the left), I get a bright flash on the screen, as if the brightness on both screens were set to 100% for a second.I did not change any controls while mac was going "to sleep" We can notice brightness on native display fell from 100 percent on both sliders to 60 and 50. The panel of the MacBook Air can reach much higher brightness levels than the advertised 400 nits, but Apple wants to keep the distance to the more expensive MacBook Pro 13. ![]()
